Re: enhancements to IDE

Thanks for your continuous effort to make SqlDbx a better
SQL Editor and hearing the most of the suggestions
by us, the users.
I see now in the View menu the new option: "Toggle Window
Snap Mode" perhaps in response to a previous suggestion,
but i don't see a practical use yet of this; the ideal would be
that at the markers' ( "x" ( close? ) ) click event the windows
are closed and correspondingly the remaining windows could be
resized with auto-arrange, ocuppying all of the workspace available,
In addition the remaining windows just closed could be recovered
in a schema like dock-panels, with a single mouse click.
Thanks

Re: Re: enhancements to IDE

This is not a completed feature yet.
What we are trying to do is to get
some suggestions on how it should be implemented.
We already got couple of interesting ideas

Re: Re: enhancements to IDE

I'd like to provide my 2c of perspective:

Docking windows are very cool feature, but IMHO huge benefit of SqlDbx IDE is it's light-weight comparing to the monsters like TOAD. It is huge, overcomplicated, constantly crushing (docking is great there) and can not even advance to the error line in stored procedure.

Some basic things, like shortcut editor are important, but application focus should be targeted towards creating better Database Development IDE, like debugging, etc

Re: Re: enhancements to IDE

The only features we will consider and implement is the ones
which make SqlDbx more useful. Just adding whole bunch of
docking windows will not do that. The idea with floating windows
is to allow Editor window to overlap with Results window, so you can
have more space or possibly to have ability to add another Editor window or Result window.
